Using Privacy Mode

Last updated: 2026-08-22

Privacy mode replaces every dollar amount in Greenline with dots. Handy on a train, on a shared screen, or when you just want to look at your allocations without the numbers staring back.

Turning it on

Tap the eye icon at the top of the screen. It’s there on every page, not only the dashboard, so you can reach it wherever you happen to be.

Tap it again to turn it off.

There’s also a Hide amounts switch in Settings, under Preferences, which does the same thing.

Good to know

  • It stays on until you turn it off, including after you close and reopen the app. It follows your account, so it’s on across your phone and your computer.
  • Everything else works normally. You can still browse accounts, check allocations and open holdings.
  • Dollar amounts and share counts are hidden. Percentages stay visible, so you can still see how things are doing without showing how much you hold.
  • On an iPhone, you can long-press the Greenline icon on your home screen and turn privacy mode on before the app even opens.
