Last updated: April 16, 2026
Welcome to Greenline, a personal finance platform operated by Greenline Platforms Inc., a federally incorporated company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada ("Greenline," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including our website, mobile app, dashboard, tools, and communications (collectively, the "Platform").
By clicking "I Agree" or by using the Platform, you are electronically signing this agreement and accepting these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Greenline.
1. Eligibility
You may use Greenline only if:
- you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction,
- you are using the Platform for personal, lawful, and non-commercial purposes,
- you comply with all applicable laws, and
- if you are accessing Greenline from outside Canada, you are responsible for complying with your local laws (including tax, privacy, and investment rules).
Greenline is intended for individual use only. Business, institutional, or commercial investment use is prohibited unless you have written authorization from us. Each account is for a single user. You must not share your login credentials or grant access to others.
2. Our Services
Greenline provides tools for viewing and tracking personal investment portfolios. Features may include:
- viewing holdings, performance, and insights,
- importing data through CSV/PDF uploads, screenshots (where supported), or manual entry,
- generating illustrative charts and summaries, and
- displaying market, portfolio, and fee-related information.
Greenline is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Greenline does not:
- provide personalized financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice,
- provide recommendations to buy, sell, or hold securities,
- act as a broker, bank, investment dealer, or advisor, or
- guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data.
For official investment records, rely on your financial institution's statements.
The Platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or other reasons. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or part of the Platform at any time.
Your use of the Platform may also be subject to third-party terms, including Google, Apple, app stores, hosting providers, analytics providers, and payment processors.
3. Subscription & Payment
Greenline may offer both free and paid features. Premium features may require payment through Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other providers.
By subscribing, you agree to:
- the pricing and billing terms presented at checkout,
- automatic renewal unless cancelled before the end of your billing cycle, and
- the terms of your payment provider.
Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable.
We may update fees or price tiers. If we do, we will provide advance notice as required by law or by the terms of your subscription.
4. Privacy & Data Handling
We collect certain personal and financial information, including your name, email address, year of birth, and portfolio data (such as holdings, transactions, and account values). This information may come from CSV/PDF uploads, screenshots (where supported), or manual entry.
We do not collect or store any information that would allow access to your financial accounts, including:
- banking or brokerage usernames or passwords,
- two-factor authentication codes,
- financial institution tokens, or
- any credentials used to log in to your accounts.
We use analytics tools (such as PostHog or similar) to understand usage and improve performance. We take reasonable steps to limit personal financial data sent to analytics systems, but we cannot guarantee complete exclusion. Your use of the Platform acknowledges this limitation.
Greenline is not responsible for data collection performed by third-party providers, including Google, PostHog, authentication services, infrastructure hosts, customer support tools, payment processors, and others involved in delivering the Platform.
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
We retain basic account information for up to 30 days after account deletion. Personal financial data is removed within 90 days. Aggregated or anonymized data may be retained indefinitely. You may request expedited deletion by contacting support@usegreenline.com.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access, role-based permissions, logging, and routine security reviews. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, breaches, or failures will never occur.
6. Data Processing & Automated Tools
Greenline may use automated systems, analytics, and machine learning tools—including large language models (LLMs)—to generate insights or improve the Platform. If used, these systems may process limited, anonymized, or partial financial data.
These systems do not access your Google account data beyond the basic profile information (name and email) used for authentication.
Use of third-party AI or analytics tools is subject to those providers' data policies and retention practices.
7. No Financial Advice, No Fiduciary Duty
Greenline is not a financial advisor, broker, trustee, agent, or fiduciary. Nothing on the Platform constitutes:
- financial, investment, tax, or legal advice,
- a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell securities, or
- a guarantee of future performance or outcomes.
All projections, summaries, and insights are illustrative only. You should consult a licensed professional before making financial decisions.
8. Data Accuracy & Limitations
We do not guarantee that any data—market data, analytics, summaries, or calculations—will be accurate, complete, or up to date. Errors, delays, and manual input mistakes can occur.
You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data you provide. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of imported data against your official financial institution statements. Greenline is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete information.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or malicious purposes,
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Platform,
- interfere with the security, performance, or integrity of the Platform,
- circumvent access controls or abuse authentication systems, or
- use automated scripts or bots outside approved methods.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, software, features, and materials on the Platform are owned by or licensed to Greenline. You may use the Platform only as permitted by these Terms. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our written permission.
11. Forward-Looking Statements
Some content may include forward-looking statements or projections. These are speculative, based on assumptions, and subject to risks. Actual outcomes may differ.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind.
- Greenline is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
- Greenline's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or $0 if you have not made any payments).
These limitations apply to all legal theories, including negligence, strict liability, contract, or tort.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, those limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent in-app notice. Updated Terms take effect 30 days after notice is provided. Your continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using Greenline at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any other reasonable cause. We may delete inactive accounts at our discretion.
15. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. All disputes must be brought in the courts of Toronto, Ontario.
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class-wide proceedings.
16. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays, outages, or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power failures, cyber incidents, regulatory changes, or public health emergencies.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Greenline Platforms Inc., its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
- your use or misuse of the Platform,
- your violation of these Terms, or
- your infringement of third-party rights.
18. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.
19. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
20. Apple App Store
If you access Greenline through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Greenline Platforms Inc. only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple").
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty for the app.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, regulatory compliance, or intellectual property infringement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms and our Privacy Policy form the complete and exclusive agreement between you and Greenline regarding your use of the Platform, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
